How is the skills learned from teamwork transferable to Human Resource?

During the travel and tourism projects the following are the skills I learned.

•Leadership skills As the team leader, managing, controlling, planning, and organizing the group was one of my responsibilities. As a human resource student this is important, this is the main role of a human resource recruiter, trainer or even supervisor. These transferable skills will help in understanding other people’s way of working and how we can improve them to achieve the targeted role. A team needs effective leadership to succeed. A strong team leader may encourage and inspire their members to work hard and overcome obstacles. A cohesive team accepts accountability for its place in the organization. Everyone contributes equally in a more positive and productive work atmosphere when there is a strong sense of responsibility among the group members.

•Communication skills. As mentioned in the “My story’ part, I was shy and quiet at first. To be honest these team works helped me out to be a good listener as well as a good communicator. I now freely share my ideas and find ways to improve it all the time. In the same vein, Fanshawe team works helped in improving those skills as I was more of a do alone type of person, but now I know how efficiently to work in team. In the human resource field, teamwork offers organizations and employees the ability to know more about each other in work and learn how to work together well.

•Time Management As mentioned in the “My story’ part, I was shy and quiet at first. To be honest these team works helped me out to be a good listener as well as a good communicator. •Problem- Solving In every group there must be some minor or even major issues and a good teamwork must work together One example from my personal experience is when we were on the site during the Travel and Tourism event. The food came late, and all the guests were waiting, what we did is arranged for a new transport to fetch the food and come back. Meanwhile, we served snacks that were left from breakfast to them. Eventually it was a success but there was a delay of 10 minutes for the whole event to complete. Working as a team to solve problems requires being receptive to diverse viewpoints and exercising unconventional thinking. It's feasible to recognize problems and go over obstacles that could not have been surmountable on your own by remaining composed, considering other viewpoints, and being open to fresh concepts.

•Empathy In Human resource field, it is important to have empathy and understanding people. Members of the team ought to show compassion and understanding for one another. Think on understanding the other person's viewpoint and placing yourself in their shoes. As a result, you'll be able to collaborate more effectively and make wiser choices regarding how you interact with people on the team. From my personal experience regarding back to the Travel & Tourism event again, one of my teammates which had the role of resource manager was feeling dizzy to a point that she lost consciousness, even though she was willing to helped once she got up. At that time, we all put her to sit and gave her water, I advised her to just sit, and we will do everything by ourselves. From that moment, her and I became closer.
